Long days hauling gravel

I’ve been driving dump trucks for a while now, and it feels like some days are longer than others, especially when I’ve got a full load of gravel… Yesterday, I spent hours on a job site in the heat, just trying to keep my truck moving while the crew laid the foundation. Anyone else feel like the hauling part is what really tests your stamina?

I hear you, those long hauls can really drain you; it’s like running a marathon but in reverse — just when you think you’re done, you’ve got another lap to make. Ever thought about how the heat seems to multiply the weight of that load?

Totally get that — it’s exhausting! I’ve found that taking quick breaks to hydrate, especially in the heat, really helps keep your energy up. How do you manage those long stretches?
